I have been slacking majorly at the old blog, and I think it's just because I haven't felt motivated. I am always considering new topics, but I just feel...bored.
In the spirit of this changing season, I am ready to change some things up at Happily Ever After.
First up: Name Change!I've been considering a blog name change for a little while. Although I do like the current name, it's not as unique as I want it to be. I've been brainstorming and there are a few that top the list. If you have any ideas, send them my way!
With the name change, I will certainly have to change up the blog design, and I'm excited to play with a few new looks :)
On the Family front:
It seems like Peyton has grown up so much in the past month. She communicates very well, and can identify many letters and colors now! She is turning into a little person before our eyes.
And me? Well I am so tired of these last few pounds of baby weight. I have started and stopped healthier eating too many times in the last year. I have identified my downfalls and resolved to overcome them! Commitment, I am here!
On the house front:
Nothing major is happening with home improvements right now. I am getting ready to re-organize our office because Miss P has discovered the drawer with markers and I need to move them! Ben is gearing up for a big project that will happen in the next few months (hopefully): building a closet in our playroom!
Other than that, I am just happy to begin our fall decorating this weekend :)
Keep an eye out for a post about our trip to Punta Cana!!
We seem to have a lot going on right now, yet nothing I can quite put my finger on. On my days off, I feel like I am in constant motion-busy, busy, busy. But at the end of the day, I look around at my house and wonder "What did I do all day?!" Ever had one of those days?
~Perhaps it's the anticipation of events coming up (Mother's Day, Anniversary, P's birthday, other family birthdays...) but my mind is buzzing all.the.time.
Then I saw this one day, and felt thankful that I wasn't alone! AMEN!
~Peyton is certainly keeping me busy, but I love this stage so I wouldn't change a thing about it. We have a monthly update coming soon!
She's in to everything
~My Mom's dog, Suri, is (hopefully) expecting her first litter of pups in early June. We have an ultrasound on Saturday to confirm pregnancy! My Mom has become incredibly involved in her new home-based kennel and Suri has made her proud in the Conformation Show Ring :)
Although I've had a lot on my mind, my thoughts are about to spring into action in the next few weeks. I'm trying to enjoy quiet time when I can, and not become too obsessed with the cleanliness of my house
I have developed an unhealthy obsession with Mustang. Every time I see her, I can't help but tell her how freakin' cute she is.
All wrapped up when our heat was out
She wants to go out and play in the snow
Now, she has a little competition. Rowen (Mom's dog) has been visiting a lot lately...and she's pretty cute too. My Mom is currently trying to find a home for her. Ben is calling this a 'test drive'. We will see
The standoff
She is so affectionate and loves to cuddle
On another random note (don't say I didn't warn you), I got my FIRST blog award from my friend Ingrid at Hakuna Matata. I always enjoy keeping up with her through her blog.
It's nice to have an award-it means folks are reading. I do work hard to think of interesting things to write about (although this post, ironically, is an exception). I spent an hour yesterday trying to figure out how to get better font for my posts and and add a cute post divider...until I started trying to write code in html format and completely gave up. It's cute enough for now, I think. Maybe I will try again someday.
I will pass this award on to:
My buddy Jill who has been blogging about her recent move to NYC and the culture shock of it all! It's so entertaining.
Also, Shannon's posts always make me laugh. I think it's so cool that we both went to the same elementary school in Memphis (but didn't know each other), then I moved to Alpharetta in 5th grade. Shannon and I both ended up at UT in the same sorority. Weird.
Welcome!
