The Field

9:00 AM 0 Comments
We have discovered a new "park" near my parents' house. I use the term loosely because right now, it is park property until the city figures out (and votes on) what to do with it. For now, it's basically a huge open field near some woods with hiking trails. The dogs love it because they can run, play in the water...and just 'be dogs'.

Rowen

They ran & ran

Playing in the water

Just bein' a dog

Today was perfect for flying kites!

Uh-Oh

Yay!

Sleepy face!

Fro Yo for afternoon snack! (I know-my mix is crazy)

24 weeks

(Yes, I know I missed last week...it was busy around here!)

We went for a routine visit this morning and Betsy (a CNM) said Junebug is very active! Currently s/he is lying transverse (across my belly with head over on the right) but this can change daily. Heart rate 160's and measuring perfectly!

24 Week Stats:

Size: Grapefruit; I have also seen Eggplant (uterus = soccer ball)

New Development: Developing capillaries under the skin...leads to that sweet pink baby! Junebug is beginning to practice breathing too!

Symptoms: Ok, friends... pregnancy has officially arrived! I have swollen ankles (especially after working), heart palpitations, and restless nights. I am happy to have it all though :)

What I'm looking forward to: Ordering nursery furniture very soon!

My view :)

Boy, oh Boy!

I am so happy to announce the birth of my nephew- Kenneth Dale Furman II, born February 13th!
I had to work that day, but luckily it was somewhat slow on our unit, so I was able to go visit Amanda throughout the day and be present for the birth! WHAT a blessing!
Amanda labored and delivered beautifully and I am so proud of her.

8lbs, 21 inches

HUGE hands!

Uncle Ben!

So excited to take care of Amanda & Little Ken the day they went home!

Hamma came for a visit!

Rowen loves her Hamma :)

Very interested to see Rowen with a newborn!
I am so excited for Junebug to have a playmate so close in age!

22 Weeks

I feel like my belly growth has come in spurts. I will look the same for 3-4 weeks straight, then suddenly I "pop" (again) overnight!

Size: Papaya

New Development: Nothing major this week, but I did find it fascinating to learn that I can now hear the baby's heartbeat through a standard stethoscope (instead of a doppler)! Yes, I have tried and no luck yet. I should expect Junebug's weight to double in the next 4 weeks...whoa!

Symptoms: Hip pain, especially at night. General feeling of body parts being shifted and moved around.

What I'm looking forward to: I think I'm happy right where I am (although I can't wait for the nursery to come together!)

1-2-3 Cake

10:00 AM 0 Comments
I have seen this floating around Pinterest and just had to try it!

The 1-2-3 Cake:

Ingredients:
-2 boxes of cake mix: One can be any flavor, but the other must be angel food cake
-Mix them together and store in an airtight container

To Make:
-3 Tbsp of the dry mixture and 2 Tbsp water in a coffee mug
-Microwave for about 1 minute
-Top with fruit, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, etc. and ENJOY!

I used angel food cake + white cake (what I had on hand)

Before you microwave:

Base (before yummy toppings!)

This was a perfect little "something sweet" for after dinner (or whenever the craving strikes)!
Remember: 1 minute in the microwave, 2 Tbsp water, 3 Tbsp mix = 1-2-3 Cake!

Laundry Room Makeover

10:25 AM 0 Comments
One of our top priority projects after we moved in was the laundry room. It's not huge, but offers plenty of space to get the laundry done. However, the previous owners didn't leave us much to work with:

One tiny shelf! (For hangers, detergent, etc!)

We Ben & Robert installed some great shelves above the washer/dryer as well as an organization system on the opposite wall!

Almost there...

Ta-Da!
Now I have more hanging space and shelves than I could have ever hoped for! (I actually don't know what to do with all the space!)

21 Weeks

10:05 AM 2 Comments
OK, it's February...which means only 4 months from now, it's baby time! Scared, excited, anxious, hopeful...all of the things I am feeling!

21 Week Stats:

Size: Banana

New Development: Manufacturing meconium-the first poo! Beginning to perceive light from inside. (So, why all the activity at night?)

Symptoms: Still feeling really good in general. Junebug has been so active and getting a lot stronger! Ben has felt him/her, as well as Ashley in Chattanooga, and another Ashley at work! It's one of the most amazing feelings, and I already think I will miss it when Junebug arrives. Without divulging too much...I will just say that my body has been preparing for feeding!

What I'm looking forward to: Now that we are over halfway there, I'm ready to put all of my nursery plans into action. I have everything 'in the hopper' so to speak, and it's time to get moving!

Finally giving in...here's a belly shot
